Types of Electric Razors

!±8± Types of Electric Razors

Everything nowadays comes in different styles, colors, flavors, etc. Even instruments for personal use have different types, instruments such as electric razors. Men's electric shavers are more convenient to use compared to blade razors because unlike the latter, the former avoid nicks, since the blades don't touch your skin which is much safer.

Men's electric shavers come with either foil or rotary cutting blades which are specially designed for easy and fast shaving. Most women, however, only use the foil cutter type as this type tend to be the easiest and most convenient to use by women. Though there has not been any test conducted for women's model of electric razors,it doesn't mean they can't use electric shavers designed for men. Some women actually also do use the rotary type of electric shavers.

How then, do the foil razor and the rotary razor differ from each other? The answer is quick and simple: they only differ in design, and therefore they also differ in the manner by which they cut off facial hair.

Foil shavers have either one or two heads specially designed to glide over the contours of the face with cutters that oscillate behind a perforated screen. Electric razor foils are made from smooth metals like stainless steel, titanium, or platinum. The foil is made as thin as possible in order to get closer to the skin, which, in effect, provides a smoother shave. Remember, the thinner the metal standing between the cutter blades and the face, the closer the shave should be.

While the foil electric razor has one or two heads, the rotary electric razor, on the other hand, has three or four heads specially designed to glide over facial contours, with cutters that spin behind the fine grid. As the shaving head moves across the shaving or facial area, the skin is slightly rolled to lift the hair from below the surface---a procedure quite similar to the one for traditional straight razors. Rotary shavers tend to be quieter and easier to clean than the foil type of electric shavers.

Both electric razor types use foils to cover the blades and help draw on and separate the individual hairs. So, in choosing an electric razor, choose one that is easier to use, convenient, and most comfortable for you.

Also remember some important precautions when using electric razors. Do not use them in a wet area or in an area. They are electric-powered, and so the possibility of electrocution is very high; so, it is advisable to use it in a dry area. Unless they do not require you to plug it into a wall outlet, using men's electric shavers inside your bathroom is perfectly okay.
